A few weeks ago we featured an orchestra consisting of thirty pairs of shoes, while now you can scroll down and cast a glance at what a real musical ensemble consisting of vintage home appliances looks like. Even though it’s quite bizarre, it seems the performances carried out by these things as substitutes for people have become a real hit.

The German artist Michael Petermann assembled mixers, cutters, blenders, and electric knives into a band called “The Stupid Orchestra”. Just shy of 200 electric household appliances from the designer-wise irreplaceable 1950’s perform a 35-minute show every hour on the hour. The performance is set up at the MKG Hamburg, open until April 30th.

Blow dryers, vacuums and ventilators along with some ten more various electric household appliances intertwined in a so-called “Stupid Orchestra” surely don’t produce idyllic inspirational music, but their rendition is by all means unique, definitely something worth listening and seeing.
